Technical Assistance to Consolidated Communities

Consolidated Telcom, your telephone, high speed Internet and television service provider in southwestern North Dakota, has partnered with EduTech, North Dakota’s K-12 technology support group, to offer Consolidated’s communities FREE technology training.  The sole purpose of this grant is to increase community members’ knowledge and use of Internet and other broadband resources through instruction and technical assistance.

Consolidated and EduTech are training and providing resources to two teachers from the local school to prepare them to provide these workshops.  This team is committed to deliver twelve hours of training to patrons of their community.

Workshop topics may include but are not limited to Digital Citizenship, Social Networking, Online Tools and Microsoft Office. There may also be instruction on the latest gadgets such as smartphones, iPads, Kindle and Nook.  Each local teacher team will then have the flexibility to modify the workshop schedule, handouts and topics to meet the needs of their community.  All of the community trainings must be completed by May 30, 2013.

Consolidated will provide the funding, marketing, giveaways and prizes to each community involved and EduTech will provide the support, training materials and guidance necessary to make the trainings a success.
