Live…From the Heart interactive videoconference opportunity shared.

This past Wednesday, November 9th, 40 students from the Mandan High School health career class of Constance Keller, participated in an open heart surgery via interactive videoconferencing programming with Advocate Christ Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.

”The awesome thing is they (the students) get to see a live heart bypass surgery and they get to ask the surgeon questions during the surgery. Students who participated were able to see first hand each step in the surgical process for optimal healing and health. It’s one thing to have an educator tell you about sawing open a stern or what the actual heart looks like beating in the thoracic cavity and seeing it for your self,” said instructor Constance Keller.

Live…from the Heart conference technical services and facilitation in North Dakota are being provided through the collaborative efforts of the Information Technology Department (ITD) and EduTech Education Technology Services.

For more information on programming such as Live…from the Heart visit http://www.blogs.edutech.nodak.edu/video or contact Kari Sauer at EduTech 1.800.804.8550.
