I was intrigued by this article today in the Washington Post.  Thanks to my friends on Twitter for passing it on.  I must admit it reaffirms some of the beliefs I have been holding on to during this NCLB decade.  Creativity, adaptability, the arts, and the skills to be a life long learner are more valuable than any standardized curriculum or test.
