Yesterday I earned the honor of being selected the 2010 ND SE Region Superintendent of the Year.  This is an outstanding award and I am very honored to be viewed by my colleages as a appropriate candidate for such a recognition.  I want to take a few moments to THANK some people.   The first is my wonderful wife, Lisa.  Whom has made me the well rounded, enlightened, and thoughtful person that I am today.  I also benefit from her being a full time teacher as she keeps me real each and every day.  I believe having a teacher in my house keeps me focused on what is important in the classroom and not too far from what is important, the kids.    Secondly, I want to THANK my teachers and staff.  I have the fortune of working for a school that is filled to the brim with professionals that each and every day do their very best to educate our kids.  Great employees make it easy to look like an effective and outstanding leader!  Again, I am humbled by the honor and put the lions share of the credit to my wife and my employees.  They make going to work each day, and coming home each night, a JOY!

The summer has again swept by quickly as we see the beginning of a new school year on breaking on the horizon.  Principals & teachers are already preparing the school for another successful year, which is only days away.

As you enter the building this year I would like to encourage everyone to take a look around at the superb condition the building is in and THANK the custodial staff.  They have done a wonderful job preparing the facility.  Over the summer a couple special projects were completed.  The first was the move of the elementary playground.  Even though it is not 100% completed yet it is a huge feat getting it to the point it is at this time.  I want to THANK the custodial staff and all the volunteers that helped make this move possible.  The second project was the replacing of the carpeting in the two HS entryways.  The custodians installed a new FLOR system that is built on individual 2×2 squares of carpeting.  We hope you like it.

As we begin this new year I also want to quickly introduce you to our two new faculty members.  The first, is not all that new but the name has been changed :-).  Miss Mattheis is now Mrs. Allison Radermacher and has moved from her previous aide position to now taking the reigns of the K-12 library.  Mrs. Radermacher is an Ellendale graduate who attended the Univ of Mary where she obtained her elementary education degree.  At the present time she is working on her LMS credential at VCSU and will be wonderful resource in our library.  The second new faculty member is Miss Nicole Nelson.  Miss Nelson is starting her career in education with us in our HS English department.  Miss Nelson graduated from Jamestown College in 2010 and we feel will be an outstanding compliment to our already outstanding HS faculty.

As the new year begins I wish everyone the best of luck.  If you ever have any questions or concerns please contact your child’s teacher, a principal, myself as we are more than ready to assist you.

God Bless & Best of Luck
