EMT’s are the world’s healers. They answer emergency calls, and take care of you  to heal you every sickness or wound until they hand you over to the hospital.  There are three types of EMT’s; EMT basic, EMT intermediet and paramedic.

EMT basic is the basic or first level of EMT’s.  Coursework is based on emergency skills such as managing respritory skills, trauma and cardiac emergencies. They are qualifies to drive ambulences and they also get training in emergency childbirth, dealing with bleeding and cardiac arrest. To graduate, one has to pass a written test and practical examination.  (occupational outlook handbook)

EMT intermediet is the next level of EMT’s.  The training varies with each state. It requires 30 to 350 hours of training based on scope of practice. One will learn how to use advanced airway devices, special fluids, and medications. (occupational outlook handbook)

The last and most advanced level of EMT is a Paramedic. One recieves traing in anatomy and physiology along with advanced medical skills.  The training may require one to get their associates degree. The pay is significantly higher and you will be trained into being one of the finest EMT’s in the world and it’ll be for the national gaurd taking care of injured soldiers.

There are a few differences in training between EMT and Paramedic. You need ato be an emt to become a paramedic. You must have 1100 to 1400 hours of training in, you must have passed with an 80% or higher on all the tests. With being an Emt basic and Emt intermediet, you need to have 110 to 140 hours of traininig and must have passed tests with 80% or higher.

The number of positions open for becoming an Emergency medical technition  have significantly gone up over the years and has no plans on slowing down.  You can start your trainning right out of high school.

There are some hospitals that offer Emt training courses. There are also online classes  that you can take if you dont have the time or money to take the  sit down classes. Its just like any other online class, you can take your time completing them and just go to a Emt class administrater to take your tests.  Dilligence and research is essential.
